I am an experienced producer of video, animation and radio. My skills extend to script writing, radio broadcasting, project management and organisational management.
I first arrived in Central Australia on a rainy day in January 2001 to manage Warlpiri Media Association (now PAW Media) based in Yuendumu. Seven years later I moved to Alice Springs and took up the challenge of reviving Indigenous Community Television (ICTV). Over the next 15 years, I oversaw the development of the service into an independent, Indigenous managed full-time television service delivering cultural and community programming to audiences across remote Australia via satellite.
I am an advocate for the capacity of of stories, and recordings of stories to foster change and strengthen culture and language.
I am currently engaged in a number of media and media management projects in Central Australia.
I identify as a non-Indigenous Australian of Italian descent,. Both my Italian grandparents arrived in North Queensland in the early 1920's to work on the canefields .
My mother's family were early settler families in Mackay, central Queensland.
I grew up in Ingham, a small sugar-cane growing town north of Townsville with a large population of Italian migrants and descendants.
I have also lived in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Paris and have called Central Australia home for the past 24 years.
